Engaged 26-Year-Old Shops for Life Insurance! Buying Journey Interview.

User Interview

Tell me about what initially drew you to purchase a term life insurance plan.

I was initially drawn to purchase life insurance when I moved to Chicago after completing my university degree. Around the age of 24, one of my friends had mentioned that he had bought Life Insurance because of his outstanding student debt. I also had outstanding student debt at the time, so I decided to research Life Insurance and why it's essential. I eventually realized that so many things could go wrong at any instance, so why not put a small sum of money down to prepare for the future and what it holds. Finally, at the age of 25, I purchased my first 20-year term Life Insurance plan.

What Did It Feel Like Finally Having a Sense of Peace of Mind?

It was rewarding to know that I had made preparations for the future if anything wrong were to happen. At the time, I just got engaged to my boyfriend. It was nice to know that if anything were to happen to me after our wedding date, he wouldn't be burdened with my student loans.

Would You Recommend This Process To Other 20-Year-Olds?

I think that purchasing Life Insurance is a personal choice. You should sit down and figure out if purchasing a life insurance plan will benefit you. Usually, people realize that it is worth it to pay $20 monthly for peace of mind.

Can You Guide Me Through The Steps You Took to Purchase Your Term Life Insurance Plan?

Yes, absolutely. After realizing that Life Insurance would benefit me, I contacted my friend who previously worked with an agent out of Chicago. I set up an in-person meeting to discuss different plans and options and which specific option would be the best tailored to fit my personal needs.
