Christopher’s Week 1: Tech Skills I'm learning as an Intern

Hi all, my name is Christopher Phongsa and I am a D3.js Software Engineering Intern for InsuredTY. I have just completed my first week with InsuredTY and would love to share my experience thus far with everyone.

My goal with InsuredTY is to learn more about life insurance. I also will like to apply my programming skills to help others learn about life insurance through data visualizations, such as charts and graphs.

All of our planning is done through Trello, a Kanban-style Sprint Board to help us organize our projects into boards. The way in which we structure our planning and organization, however, is done through the Agile Methodology. Agile is popular approach to project management and software development. As of now, it has been a great way for us to create and execute weekly goals. As for communication, our team uses Slack to discuss and meet with one another.

As a Software Engineering Intern, I have added value to the team by providing life insurance data visualizations. I have also provided design tips regarding graphs so that they are sleek, informative, and minimal.
