Cynthia’s Blog #5: SDLC Testing

What is the SDLC? SDLC is the software development life cycle. The SDLC has improved my work skills.

1) Planning: How Do I Plan My Work?

InsuredTY uses Trello as a Sprint Board. Planning is the first step in a software development life cycle. I plan my work by identifying the goal of my work, figuring out the objectives, and understanding a general timeline.

2) Requirements: Why Is Gathering Requirements Important?

Gathering requirements are important because it is a fundamental part of any project. If requirements are unknown, there is a high possibility that the results will not be the desired outcome. Poor requirements more than likely lead to poor results.

3) Design: What Design Steps Do I Take?

The design steps that I take to create projects are figuring out what I am designing, brainstorming, creating, getting feedback, and improving.

4) Doing: How Do I Work Effectively?

I work effectively by writing down everything that needs to be done, working on the most important projects first, staying away from distractions, and taking breaks. Breaks are essential- burnout is real.

5) Testing: The Most Important Part. What Skills Do I Need To Grow To Test And Publish Professional-Grade Work?

To test and publish professional-grade work, the skills that I need to grow to include stepping outside of my comfort zone, rechecking my work, and getting feedback from others.
