What is Product Design?
Product design is the process of imagining and creating products that will address a specific need in a market or solve an individuals problem. Product design is a very important step of new product development.
What type of designs attract our market of Asian-American parents?
Typically Asian-American parents like very simple and straightforward designs that address a certain issue or concern. From my personal experience, my parents are very anxious and worried about many things so when they see a product that claims to help fix an issue they are very eager to look into it. I believe that Asian-American parents of our generation will prefer a simple design that is simple to understand and grasp and is designed to address their needs.
How do we find product market fit by designing our materials, content, brochures well?
Product market fit is when your product is in a good state where it is able to satisfy a problem of the market you are in. When you are in product market fit you will experience large growth driven from word of mouth. In order to find product market fit we have to maximize the number of product iterations with the limited resources we have. In other words, we need to have various products and not just one product.
How will we do that?
We will need to come up with various things or iterations in order to achieve product market fit. When we design materials, content, and brochures we need to have different variations so they do not stay boring. This requires a lot of brainstorming and receiving feedback from co-workers and from customers as well. Lastly we can evaluate the markets to see what other companies are doing.
