Introducing Gaston, Our New Social Media / Sales Intern

My name is Gaston Cooper, a 25-year-old former athlete turned marketer. My role with InsuredTY is as a Social Marketing Intern. I graduated from Bowie State University with a degree in Sports Management with a concentration in Marketing. I have interned with the Military Bowl Foundation Inc. and currently have a certification in Digital Marketing from George Washington University as well as an Inbound certification from HubSpot.

My goal with InsuredTY is to bring my expertise within the digital marketing realm to help grow clients who are unaware or seeking insurance, as well as grow in the knowledge of the marketing field as a whole.  Currently, I’m still in the early stages of my career. With the current work I am doing, I intend on growing into a full-time digital marketer. I am a “DMV” native, being from Silver Spring Maryland, I’ve been accustomed to all walks of life. Starting my tenure as an undergrad at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania I was exposed to even more classes of people. I am passionate about marketing because I have had a desire to be creative since I was in high school. I have not only a knack for creating desirable content as well as building consumer personas.

Learning about insurance has been quite interesting because before this position, I didn’t know too much about my car insurance, so seeing how broad the insurance field is, it’s great knowledge to have. Through the SDLC and Agile methodologies, they are much like other various tools to accomplish specific goals. There are multiple steps in accomplishing an end goal. Both of these methodologies, comprise a structured system that involves an immense amount of planning, defining the requirements of the product(s), designing, building, testing, and then deploying the finished product to the market.
